Following the success of the first season in 2021, the Library of Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (HUB) continued to organize the 2022 University-level “Reading Culture Ambassador” Contest with the theme: “Aspiration for National Development.” The contest aimed to foster a love of reading among the younger generation, encourage the exchange and sharing of reading experiences, and promote reading culture. Ultimately, it sought to encourage and enhance reading habits and skills among students, postgraduates, and faculty members, thereby nurturing a strong reading movement within the university and the broader community.

The contest took place from April 21, 2022 to July 2, 2022, and consisted of three rounds. This year, the contest expanded its scope to include all students, postgraduates, and faculty members at the university. In the Preliminary Round, participants submitted essays or creative video/audio clips in which they:Shared their reflections on a book they had read; Proposed an initiative; orCreated an original literary/artistic work (such as short stories, poems, plays, or drawings)These entries aimed to spread a passion for reading, inspire others, raise awareness, promote positive and responsible living, and ignite a sense of commitment to building a prosperous and happy Vietnam.

The Organizing Committee selected the best entries to advance to the Semi-final and Final Rounds, which involved presentations, debates, and real-world experiences to determine the Reading Culture Ambassador of HUB in 2022. This annual cultural event has consistently received strong support from the university’s leadership, with coordinated participation from various units and individuals, including the University’s Trade Union, Youth Union, Student Association, and the Library. Detailed information about the contest was widely disseminated through HUB’s official communication channels and the Library’s platforms. The 2022 contest is expected to build on its previous success and make a meaningful contribution to fostering a reading culture at the university.
