On the morning of November 10, 2021, at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) held the Closing Ceremony and Award Presentation for the 2021 “Reading Culture Ambassador” Contest. Attending the ceremony were Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy – Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Pham Quoc Hung – Director of the Library Department and Head of the Organizing Committee; along with representatives from various departments and units under the Government Office, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The 2021 “Reading Culture Ambassador” Contest was an initiative aimed at students across the country, designed to inspire a passion for reading among children and young people. The contest encouraged reading movements, the development of reading habits and skills among the youth, and contributed to the promotion of a reading culture in schools and the wider community – a vital factor in building a spiritually enriched society.
The contest attracted participation from 55 provinces/cities and numerous universities and academies that organized local preliminary rounds. A total of 871,168 students took part, and 1,252 entries were selected and submitted to the national final round. These entries represented the most outstanding submissions, showcasing the intelligence, effort, creativity, and deep love for books among the students.
In preparation for the 2021 contest, the Library of Ho Chi Minh University of Banking organized an internal preliminary round and selected 10 outstanding entries to represent the university at the national final round. At the Closing Ceremony and Award Presentation, two submissions from HUB students were honored with high achievements:Hoang My Hien, from class DH36QT03, Faculty of Business Administration, won Third Prize with the entry titled “Effective Reading Methods”. Nguyen Ho Tram Anh, from class HQ6GE02, Faculty of Business Administration, received a Consolation Prize with the entry titled “Sharing About a Favorite Book That Changed My Perspective”.
