STINET (Scientific and Technological Information Network) was established in 2018 with the aim of sharing and effectively utilizing science and technology (S&T) information resources to support research and development activities in Ho Chi Minh City. As of now, STINET (website link here) has attracted the participation of 39 institutions, including research institutes, universities, and libraries across the city. The system currently hosts a collection of over 522,700 S&T documents, with more than 107,000 full-text resources. These include books, journals, theses, dissertations, research project results, conference and seminar materials, etc., all shared by member institutions.
Currently, the system allows users to access and search shared documents from member institutions under an open access policy with no restrictions. Users can search and view available full-text documents directly online or follow links to the full text on the websites of the corresponding member institutions. Notably, the system offers open access to full-text materials related to research projects (S&T task outcomes), theses, dissertations, and conference proceedings in Ho Chi Minh City. Users are allowed to view the complete contents of these research materials directly on the system.
Specifically, STINET currently provides: Over 6,000 full-text research project reports, More than 17,000 theses and dissertations shared by 10 member institutions, Among them, the Center for Science and Technology Information and Statistics (CESTI) contributes over 3,300 research project reports.Additionally, the system offers access to more than 2,300 full-text conference papers, collected and processed from scientific conferences organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, research institutes, and universities in cooperation with domestic and international research institutions.
