On April 17, 2026, at the Main Hall, 56 Hoang Dieu 2 Campus, Thu Duc Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, the Information – Library Center of Ho Chi Minh University of Banking, in collaboration with the University Youth Union and the Student Association, successfully organized the 4th talkshow “Career Preparation through the Pages of Books” in 2026 with the theme “Digital Knowledge Resilience”. The program recorded more than 1,000 registrations and welcomed the direct participation of over 800 students.

    (The atmosphere of the talkshow)

The program was held in the meaningful atmosphere of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day and World Book and Copyright Day on April 23, while also joining the vibrant series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh University of Banking. This was not only an educationally meaningful activity, but also a practical highlight in the journey of spreading knowledge, fostering reading culture, and inspiring the spirit of lifelong learning among HUB students.

The development of reading culture has long been considered an important foundation for building a learning society, directly contributing to the formation of learners’ qualities, competencies, and independent thinking. Over the past 50 years of establishment and development, Ho Chi Minh University of Banking has consistently pursued the goal of building a knowledge-rich academic environment, in which reading culture plays a fundamental role. In the context of rapid digital transformation, the University has continuously paid attention to and promoted the development of reading culture in a modern direction, suitable for the digital era and supportive of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship among students.

Representing Ho Chi Minh University of Banking, the program was honored to welcome Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Thi Thieu Dao – Vice President of the University; Mr. Tran Vinh Nguyen, M.A. – Director of the Information – Library Center and Head of the Organizing Committee; and Mr. Le Van Toan, M.A. – Deputy Director of the Information – Library Center.

The program was accompanied by distinguished guests and speakers, including Mr. Le Thanh Van – Founder of GUMAC Happy Fashion, a brand with more than 11 years of development and 43 stores nationwide; Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan – Deputy General Director of Eurostone and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Commander Training Academy (CHT Academy); and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Lai – Lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Ho Chi Minh University of Banking, who served as the host of the program. In addition, the program was attended by a representative of the sponsoring unit, Mr. Tran Duc Viet – Head of Business Department, CDIMEX Cultural Development and Import-Export Joint Stock Company.

With the theme “Digital Knowledge Resilience”, this year’s talkshow went beyond encouraging students to read books. It also emphasized an urgent requirement of the times: learners need to be equipped with the ability to adapt flexibly to the context of digital transformation, while developing information literacy, self-learning capacity, and independent research skills. This was also the core message that the program sought to convey to HUB students: in the new era, knowledge should not only be received, but also selected, mastered, and transformed into the capacity for action.

Within the framework of the talkshow, Mr. Tran Vinh Nguyen, M.A. – Director of the Information – Library Center and Head of the Organizing Committee – delivered the opening remarks. He emphasized the role of reading culture in building a learning society and developing learners’ comprehensive qualities and competencies, while affirming the University’s determination to promote reading culture in association with digital transformation, innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship among students.

At the program, Mr. Le Thanh Van shared many practical experiences from his journey of business, entrepreneurship, and personal growth through challenges. Through approachable yet profound stories, he conveyed to students a message about the spirit of commitment, the will to overcome difficulties, and the aspiration for self-development. In particular, he emphasized that the most valuable book for each person is not only found on a bookshelf, but is also the book of oneself and one’s own life – a book that each person needs to continuously read, reflect on, and improve through every life experience.

(Mr. Le Thanh Van sharing at the program)

From a practical perspective rooted in the business environment and professional training, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan offered valuable insights into working style, rules of conduct in professional settings, self-development mindset, and the role of reading in shaping personal resilience. Drawing from his own experience, he introduced a number of useful books and affirmed that, in the context of digital knowledge, students need not only professional knowledge, but also the resilience to orient themselves, master information, and apply knowledge effectively in their future careers.

(Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan sharing at the program)

Contributing to the overall success of the program was the graceful, flexible, and professional moderation of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Lai in her role as host. With a warm, natural, yet insightful style of facilitation, she created an open atmosphere for exchange, helping students access academic content through real-life stories, lived experiences, and multidimensional perspectives from the speakers. This connection created an inspiring space for interaction, where students not only listened, but also asked questions, shared their thoughts, and received practical lessons for their learning and career journey.

    (The speakers interacting with students)

The talkshow space was also designed to be diverse, interactive, and rich in experience. In addition to the professional sharing sessions by the speakers, the program introduced reading culture development activities at HUB and presented library collections. These contents helped broaden the significance of the event, turning the talkshow not merely into an exchange session, but also into an activity that spread knowledge, connected the community, and awakened social responsibility among students.

One of the highlights of the program was the enthusiastic and lively participation of a large number of HUB students. From interacting with the speakers, asking questions directly, participating in interactive activities, to receiving inspirational messages from the program, the entire talkshow space truly became a forum connecting knowledge and experience. In particular, the minigames with many attractive prizes helped energize the atmosphere, enhance interaction, and bring joy to participating students. Through the program, students were not only further motivated in their studies, but also encouraged to recognize the role of books, knowledge, and personal resilience in their journey of growth.

(Students receiving prizes in the minigame session)

More than an event held in response to Book Day, the 4th talkshow “Career Preparation through the Pages of Books” in 2026 continued to affirm the role of the Information – Library Center in accompanying students on their journey to develop self-learning capacity, access knowledge, nurture creativity, foster entrepreneurship, and pursue lifelong learning. The spirit of “Spreading reading culture – Connecting knowledge – Encouraging creativity and entrepreneurship – Promoting lifelong learning” was clearly reflected throughout the content and atmosphere of the program.

(The Organizing Committee presenting flowers and commemorative gifts to the speakers and sponsors)

As the program concluded, what remained was not only the applause, lively exchanges, or meaningful gifts, but also a strong source of inspiration about the spirit of reading, learning, and taking action. The talkshow spread a practical message: in any era, knowledge is always the foundation, but the resilience to receive, select, master, and transform knowledge into value for life is the most important preparation for every young person on the path to career development.
