On September 18, 2026, The Information - Library Center of Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (HUB) welcomed and held a working session with representatives of EBSCO Information Services to discuss database solutions, search tools, and research support services for university libraries.

Representing EBSCO Information Services were Mr. Seo-Pil Ahn – Vice President of Sales for Korea and Southeast Asia; Mr. Pham Dang Phuc – Regional Sales Manager in Vietnam; and Mr. Nguyen Nhat Minh – Director of Market Development in Vietnam.
Representing the HUB Information and Library Center were Mr. Tran Vinh Nguyen – Director of the Center; Mr. Le Van Toan – Deputy Director of the Center; and the Center's information resource development specialists.

As part of the program, EBSCO representatives toured the HUB Library facilities and introduced and discussed solutions, products, and tools designed to support information retrieval, learning, and research activities for library users. The discussions focused on EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS), a unified discovery platform capable of connecting users to academic and open-access resources; features supporting information searching and access; artificial intelligence (AI)-powered tools aimed at improving search efficiency and supporting the research process; and the OpenAthens solution for managing user access.

Both parties also discussed the possibility of conducting trials of EBSCO solutions at HUB in October 2026, along with organizing introductory sessions, user guidance, and training programs for library users. Actual usage results and user feedback will provide a basis for the Center to assess the suitability, effectiveness, and feasibility of implementing these solutions in the future.
The working session opened up further opportunities for cooperation in diversifying information resources, improving access to academic databases, and adopting modern technological solutions, thereby better supporting the learning, teaching, and scientific research needs of the HUB community.
This initiative also reflects one of the strategic directions of the Information - Library Center of Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (HUB) in its ongoing efforts to improve service quality, strengthen connections among information resources, and promote knowledge sharing in a modern higher education environment.
