On August 27, 2026, at Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (HUB), the University held a working session with representatives of Emerald Group Publishing – one of the world’s leading reputable academic publishers in the fields of economics, business administration, and social sciences, as well as a provider of databases (Emerald e-Journals and Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies) currently accessed by the HUB The Information - Library Center to support teaching and research.               

Representing Emerald Group Publishing at the working session were Mr. Sundar Radhakrishnan – Vice President, Asia Pacific; Mr. Stan Lee – Regional Director; and Ms. Nguyen Thuy Linh – Sales Director for the Vietnam market.

Representing HUB were members of the University’s Board of Management, along with representatives of the Asian Journal of Economics and Banking, the Institute for Banking Science and Technology Research, the Information - Library Center, and relevant faculties, institutes, and units.

- International trends in enhancing research quality and impact (Research Impact): The two sides exchanged views on the shift from measuring the quantity of publications toward assessing research impact, promoting research that responds to the practical needs of businesses, regulatory authorities, and communities, and contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Academic resource ecosystem and support for international publishing: Emerald representatives introduced and provided updates on databases, solutions, and support programs for authors and researchers aimed at strengthening international publishing capacity and expanding research collaboration.
- Future cooperation directions between HUB and Emerald: The two sides discussed specific opportunities for cooperation based on HUB’s strategic directions and priorities in research development, education, and international publishing.

In particular, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (1976–2026), representatives of Emerald Group Publishing presented the University with free access throughout 2026 to the complete Emerald Core Collection, with the aim of supporting teaching, learning, research, and the enhancement of academic quality. Emerald representatives also extended their best wishes for HUB’s continued development in the years ahead.

The working session was a practical activity that contributed to expanding international cooperation in scientific research and academic publishing, while supporting the Research Institute, Journal, and Library in continuing to enhance the quality of information resources and accompanying lecturers and researchers in their journey toward greater international academic integration.
